Xenophobia: FG summons South Africa High Commissioner

Xenophobia: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has summoned the South Africa High Commissioner to Nigeria, Bobby Moroe, over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

A senior ministry official, Kimiebi Ebenfa, confirmed the meeting, Channels Television reports.

The meeting is expected to hold at the headquarters of the ministry of foreign affairs by 11 o’clock today.

Onyema had earlier on Monday vowed the Federal Government would take decisive measures following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and their businesses in South Africa.

He described the news of the attack as ‘sickening and depressing.’

Speculations that the alleged killer was a Nigerian sparked protests, looting and burning of foreign-owned businesses.



There are no jobs in South Africa, leave Nigerians alone – SA Activist says

Julius Malema, leader of Economic Freedom Fighters, EFF, while assuring everyone that South Africa is for everybody, has said there are no jobs in the country and so no one should be harassed.

Malema said this while condemning the renewed spate of xenophobic attack on foreigners in South Africa. He called for an end to the attacks on foreigners because South Africa was for all.
