Her Excellency the wife of the Bauchi State Governor Hajia Hadiza M.A Abubakar who is also the Chairperson, Northern Governors’ Wives Forum represented Her Excellency the wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Hajia Aisha Buhari at the commissioning of a skills acquisition and drop in centre in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The center is fully equipped, courtesy of the Northern Governor’s Wives Forum headed by Her Excellency Hajia Hadiza M.A Abubakar for victims of drug abuse.

Back in her state, Her Excellency Hajiya Hadiza M.A Abubakar Wife of the Governor Bauchi State in collaboration with the Bauchi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, a week ago, flagged off a three (3) day programme for Women Empowerment in Bauchi state.
The First Lady Hajiya Hadiza M.A Abubakar in her speech said:
“Women, as we all know, are indispensable to the survival of the home” and the aim of this project is as follows:
To expose women to different vocational skills for life sustenance.
To add value to those already engaged in businesses
To give trainees a wider network, market outlets and experience sharing for better performers
To promote the socio-economic status of the beneficiaries
One Thousand six hundred (1600) Beneficiaries participated in the Women Empowerment programme, and they were urged by the governor’s wife to make the most of this opportunity given to them.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alh. Mukhtari .A. Wadaji encouraged the trainees to cooperate with their trainers in order to achieve the set objectives of being entrepreneurs. He also appreciated the efforts of Her Excellency for supporting the ministry to make life more comfortable for women within Bauchi state.
In line with that, the Director Women Affairs, Mrs Lydia Shehu, said Bauchi women were fortunate to have a First Lady with much compassion and great interest among women in the state.
