NYSC: Unvaccinated corp members banned from camps nationwide

NYSC bans unvaccinated corp members from camps nationwide

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has banned unvaccinated corps members from participating in its programs nationwide.

NYSC director-general, Shuaibu Ibrahim made the announcement while addressing 2021 Batch “C” Stream Two Corps Members and Camp Officials.

The move, according to Ibrahim, will go into effect at the next orientation camp, which is coming up soon.

Before registering for the corps, he said, potential members must present proof of coronavirus vaccination.

Because of the discovery of the Omicron COVID variant in the country, the DG stated that the scheme is taking this measure to avoid allowing the disease to spread.

He noted that there is nothing like a two-week break after leaving Orientation Camp, and urged corps members to add value to themselves by learning skills that will enable them to become business owners, rather than looking for work.
