Man caught stealing AC at a COVID-19 isolation centre in Osun

A 27-year-old Nigerian man was caught attempting to remove an air conditioning unit at a COVID-19 isolation centre in Osun state.

The man identified as, Morufu Abdullah, has been arrested by the police.

Parading the suspect before newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, said on July 22, security personnel attached to Osun State University Teaching Hospital Annex, Mercy Land, one of the state’s COVID-19 isolation centers in the Dada Estate area of Osogbo, saw “a person inside one of the hospital rooms removing the air conditioners and alerted the Dada Estate Police Station”.

“The police immediately moved to the scene, cordoned off the area and arrested one Morufu Abdullah who had removed one of the air conditioners in one of the rooms.”

The police say he would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
