19-year-old actor and rapper, Jaden Smith, in an interview with Complex, revealed why he his old friends Kanye West, Drake and Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino won’t hang out with him anymore.
‘I always felt like Little Homie before and that allowed me in all of their circles,’ the JUST water co-founder said. ‘But now that I’m on the charts next to them, I’m not really Little Homie anymore.’
Jaden Smith who replied the interviewer who wondered if the famous son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett had earned some respect from his peers, following his hit single titled ‘Icon’ which is now on the charts, said;
‘No, it’s more like, ‘You can’t hang out with us anymore. We didn’t know you were making an album this whole time.
‘We thought you were just Little Homie giving us free water and sh*t. You’re not really cool with us anymore.’
The rapper who also talked about his love of hip hop/rap music, as well as why that genre is always topping the charts in the interview, said;
‘I feel like it’s the history that has led us to this domination of music. I wonder all the time. If you look at the top charts of streaming platforms—which really determines who’s listening to what—the top 10 is always rap music.
‘It’s crazy and I really don’t know why. I honestly do not know why. I like all types of music. Even though rap music is 80 percent of what I listen to, it’s not the only thing I listen to.’
Will and Jada’s first-born son released his first studio album SYRE: A Beautiful Confusion in November and has received mostly favorable reviews.
The album, that took three years to make, debuted at number 24 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
He told Vanity Fair SYRE was inspired by Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo and Frank Ocean’s Blonde.
