Alao Akala is dead

Alao-Akala is dead, sources close to the former Governor has confirmed.

The cause of his death is not yet clear as at the time of filing this report.

Akala, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was a former governor of the state, between 2007 and 2011.

It can be recalled that in December 2021, the Court of Appeal, sitting in Ibadan, discharged and acquitted him over N11.5 billion corruption charges levelled against him by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Alao-Akala was discharged and acquitted along with a former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Hosea Agboola and a business mogul, Mr Femi Babalola.
